Job Description

Primary Purpose of the role

The primary purpose of an Accountant role involves managing all accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with UAE VAT and CT laws. The role provides critical financial insights through detailed reports and analysis, supports strategic decision-making, and implements robust internal controls to safeguard assets and enhance operational efficiency.

Key Accountability Areas

Accounting

Maintain and oversee the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles.

Manage all aspects of accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, payment processing, and collections.

Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure alignment of company records with bank statements.

Maintain records of fixed assets, ensuring proper accounting and depreciation.

VAT/CT Compliance

Prepare and file VAT/CT returns accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with UAE VAT laws.

Maintain accurate records of VAT transactions, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.

Provide guidance on VAT matters to internal stakeholders, ensuring that business operations comply with VAT regulations.

Prepare and coordinate VAT audit processes.

Financial Reporting

Prepare financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

Conduct analysis to compare actual results with budgets and forecasts, identifying and explaining significant variances. (Budget Vs Actuals)

Provide detailed financial analysis and reports to senior management for decision-making purposes.

Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate annual audits and ensure the accuracy of financial information.

Internal Controls and Process Improvement

Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.

Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.

Audit

Conduct periodic internal audits to ensure compliance with internal controls and procedures.

Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation and explanations.

Any other ad hoc administrative duty as requested by the Line Manager or Management staff.

Education & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree / Graduate degree in the field of accounting or related field; or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Good computer skills and experience on MS Office packages and accounting software Tally.

Very good proficiency in using Excel application and Tally.

Experience

2-5 years of experience in Finance department in any of the reputed organizations.

Experience with UAE VAT/CT regulations and compliance.

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of UAE VAT/CT regulations, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including generally accepted accounting principles.

Knowledge of financial and accounting software applications. Knowledge of IFRS and Generally accepted accounting principles.

Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.

Strong customer service skills and the ability to manage situations promptly and professionally, meeting commitments for service and assistance.

Able to maintain effective communication at all times.

Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.

Ability to learn new software applications.

Contributes to building a positive team spirit and puts success of team above own interests.
