Accounting Associate role

As the first Accounting and Finance member of the team, your role will be pivotal in supporting the company's financial infrastructure, optimizing our billing, collections, and payment processes, and ensuring the organization's financial health through effective bookkeeping and reconciliation practices. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of operational finance expertise, a passion for efficiency improvements, and a strategic approach to financial management. You will be directly reporting to the CEO.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Support (80%+ of the role):
  • Generate and dispatch daily self-billing invoices to subject matter experts and clients, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Manage daily payments to subject matter experts and employees promptly and accurately.
  • Collaborate with the client service team to enhance billing, collections, and payment processes.
  • Conduct thorough bookkeeping and reconciliation to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Execute day-to-day accounting tasks, maintaining the organization's financial health.
  • Strategic Financial Management (10% of the role):
  • Aid in automating finance processes to improve efficiency and accuracy across financial operations.
  • Participate in financial reporting and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities to project and plan for future financial performance.
  • Manage cash flow to ensure operational liquidity and financial stability.
  • Develop and maintain financial reports, tracking cash flow, expenditures, and economic status.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in operational finance, including billing, payments, and bookkeeping.
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment autonomously.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of related work experience

  • Proficiency and experience with Xero
