Job Title: Accounts Assistant

Job Overview:
Sherwood's is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Assistant to support our finance team. This role is ideal for candidates looking to develop their career in finance and accounting within a dynamic real estate environment. The Accounts Assistant will be responsible for assisting in financial reporting, reconciliations, and daily financial tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records and assist in account preparation
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes
- Perform bank reconciliations, manage petty cash, and process payments
- Handle accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing
- Prepare VAT returns and assist with regulatory filings
- Improve internal processes and financial controls within the finance team
- Support audit preparation and coordinate with external auditors as needed
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Professional certification (ACCA, CIMA) preferred or in progress
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks experience preferred) and MS Excel
- Strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
