JOB OBJECTIVE:
- As a member of the AI/GenAI Squad you will actively contribute to the development and deployment of AI and generative AI solutions for Thales employees.
- As a Data Scientist, you will be focusing on creating cutting-edge AI-based products. Primarily centered on Large Language Models (LLMs) technology, the role also incorporates classical machine learning techniques to cater to diverse project requirements. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and strategic thinking to drive innovation and deliver impactful solutions.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead a team of data scientists in the design, development, and deployment of AI solutions.
- Mentor team members, fostering a collaborative environment and promoting ongoing professional development.
- Manage project timelines, resources, and stakeholder expectations effectively.
Technical Development and Innovation:
- Hands-on development and implementation of LLMs for various applications, integrating classical machine learning methods as necessary.
- Code-review the pull-requests of team members.
- Design scalable and cost-effective AI architectures that meet business needs and performance targets.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in AI and machine learning technologies.
Solution Design and Architecture:
- Evaluate and decide on the methodologies and tools for new projects in conjunction with the general AI/GenAI Tech Lead.
- Contribute to guidelines and promote best practices.
- Architect robust, scalable, and efficient systems that integrate seamlessly with existing infrastructure and data ecosystems.
- Ensure the technical feasibility and cost-efficiency of proposed solutions.
- Design with Security concern
Performance and Cost Management:
- Evaluate the performance metrics and cost implications of different AI models and architectures.
- Optimize processes and models for maximum efficiency and effectiveness, balancing cost and computational power.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Communicate complex data-driven insights and concepts to non-experts, ensuring clarity and actionable outcomes.
- Lead discussions and presentations with stakeholders to showcase findings, progress, and future roadmaps.
QUALIFICATION, CERTIFICATION & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar leadership role with a focus on AI and machine learning.Strong programming skills in Python, or other data science-specific languages.
- Experience in designing and deploying LLMs and familiarity with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and understanding of deployment architectures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a dynamic and challenging environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team.
