Job Responsbilities:

  • To lead and manage a group of apprentices, this includes but is not limited to training, development, coaching, guidance and performance management.
  • To lead and manage the identification and analysis of the skill gaps in the technical departments, and to propose recommendation aim at enhancing the proficiency and maturity level of knowledge, skills and attitudes.
  • To develop and continuously improve the effectiveness of technical training or specific skillsets.
  • To liaise and follow up closely with the Human Resource Division (Learning & Development) when necessary to ensure a smooth training program and compliance by the apprentice.
  • To plan and carry out the scheduled practical training with the apprentice.
  • To carry out on-the-job coaching for the apprentice or arrange for subject matter experts to assist the apprentice where applicable.
  • To ensure all facilities and collaterals necessary for training are well prepared and available during the practical training.
  • To prepare assessment questions for the apprentice and/ or observation progress for the apprentice.
  • To supervise and feedback to apprentice on their practical progress.
  • To design actions & tasks to meet goals.
  • To represent the department at the educational fairs, learning programs and events.
  • Requires basic knowledge of the organization's management and functional location.

Job Requisitions:

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field, preferably in Mechatronics.
  • Experience with control system technology, electrical control, robotics, and mechanical assembly & fabrication.
  • Experience in managing technical or training projects would be an advantage.
  • Coaching and training experience or ability to guide subordinates in technical concepts.
  • Knowledge of state-of-the-art and trends in the Mechatronics field would be an advantage.
  • Interest in human development and supporting apprentices professional development.
  • Having a Train the Trainer/ AdA or VTO (cert of Vocational training officer) would be an advantage.
