Unicare-Egypt is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Approvals Doctor Section Head to lead our dedicated team of medical professionals. This crucial role plays a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of medical case reviews, safeguarding member health and company resources within the healthcare insurance industry.

In this leadership position, you will:

Provide Strategic Leadership and Oversight:

Develop and implement a clear vision and strategy for the Approvals Doctor team, ensuring alignment with Unicare's overall healthcare insurance goals.

Oversee daily operations, setting performance targets and metrics to monitor team productivity and effectiveness.

Mentor and coach team members, fostering continuous learning and professional development in medical review practices.

Implement quality assurance processes to guarantee the accuracy, consistency, and efficiency of medical case adjudications.

Identify areas for improvement in review procedures and work collaboratively to optimize team workflows.

Manage and allocate workload effectively, ensuring timely case review and approvals while maintaining high-quality standards.

Maintain Compliance and Best Practices:

Stay abreast of evolving industry regulations and guidelines, ensuring the team adheres to the latest healthcare insurance practices.

Lead the development and implementation of internal protocols and policies for medical case review and approvals.

Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with established protocols and identify areas for improvement.

Partner with other departments (e.g., legal, claims) to address complex cases and navigate potential compliance issues.

Promote Collaboration and Communication:

Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment within the Approvals Doctor team, encouraging knowledge sharing and open communication.

Build strong relationships with healthcare providers, ensuring clear communication and timely feedback on case reviews.

Represent the Approvals Doctor team in cross-functional meetings, effectively communicating processes, challenges, and achievements.

To thrive in this leadership role, you will possess:

Qualifications and Experience:

A Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or equivalent qualification.

A minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a Medical Approvals Doctor, with at least 2-3 years of leadership experience in a healthcare insurance environment.

Certified by a recognized medical board in Egypt or a demonstrably equivalent qualification.

Skills and Abilities:

Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and inspire a team of medical professionals.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, adept at handling complex medical cases and identifying potential issues.

Excellent decision-making skills with the ability to apply sound medical judgment and navigate ethical considerations.

Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, for clear and concise communication with doctors, team members, and other stakeholders.

Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills to foster collaboration and teamwork.

In-depth knowledge of healthcare insurance regulations, policies, and best practices.

Proficient in medical record review software and healthcare management information systems.

The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
