Job Description

Main purpose of position

Currently we are looking for a Asset Manager in Cairo, Egypt to be part of our global team working together towards our vision Improving our future. As our Asset Manager you will take the lead in monitoring and execution of all commercial and administrative tasks, commitments, responsibilities and undertakings belonging to each Project Company.

Support the VP F&AM in connection with each Project Company vis--vis its respective Board of Directors and all third parties, and in accordance with the terms of the Management Service Agreement.

In addition to supporting different Scatec Solar Business Units throughout the projects phases of construction and operations to optimize returns, performance and mitigate risk.

The position also includes project administration duties.

Main responsibilities :

  • Financial Management and Corporate Governance of Operating and Project Companies:
    • Update the Financial Models as and when required by the Financing Agreements, prepare and update necessary periodic financial and cash budgets and carry out the budget-to-actual variance analysis.
    • Assist the Secretaries of the Boards and the General Managers of the local Project Companies and the Dutch Holding Companies in preparing information for the Board meetings or the General Assemblies.
    • Support and cooperate with the Finance team to:
    • prepare invoices, monitor collection of revenues, handle the incoming invoices, initiate payments, propose operating cost reduction initiatives.
    • participate in the monthly Scatec Group reporting to the headquarters.
    • liaise with the account bank(s) and execute bank transactions.
    • Update monthly construction/operations budgets with actuals and sharing it with the board of the Dutch Holding Company
  • Contractual and Statutory Compliance of Project Companies:
    • Maintain a correct and complete archive repository and scheduling system.
    • Upload documents/reports as required under the Common Terms Agreement to the lender's online portal and respond to queries from lenders, banks, advisors, etc.
    • help procuring Project Companies compliance with and communication under the terms of their constitutional documents and the Shareholders Agreements, as well as their Project and Financing Documents.
    • Act as Contract Administrator for the EPC and OM contracts from the SPV side and manage correspondence of letters and emails accordingly
    • Follow up with any commitments/communication towards governmental bodies (mainly EETC, NREA and GAFI)
    • Participate in obtaining any outstanding, licenses and permits as well as in ensuring compliance with applicable Laws and Regulations.
    • Maintain all statutory registers and do all statutory filings.
    • help to ensure compliance with the insurance policies, their timely renewal and certification.
    • Support in the compliance and further improvement work related to the applicable health, safety and environment requirements as well as social and development obligations.
    • Liaise with technical, legal and regulatory, financial, accounting and tax, environmental and social, or insurance advisers.
    • Support VP F&AM in interaction with social and economic development advisors as well as the EPC and O&M Contactors and represent Scatec
  • Operational Oversight of Project Companies:
    • Assist in monitoring on weekly/monthly basis the plants electricity production, downtime and performance, in cooperation with the O&M Contractor and prepare production root cause analysis.
    • Take full ownership in analysing the variation proposals received from the O&M or EPC Contractors, review and prepare cost estimates related to corrective maintenance, spare parts and warranties.
    • Visit the project sites and the local communities as may be deemed necessary.
    • Prepare and present slides during the bi-monthly Asset Management and OM call.
  • Other Tasks:
    • Support in any other administrative tasks related to each Project Company that are not provided for in the O&M and EPC Contracts, and which are not contracted directly by the Project Company.

Qualifications And Competencies

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration.
  • 7+ years of working experience within the areas of finance management, project- related asset management, project finance-related banking or advisory, corporate finance or controlling, accounting or auditing; majority of such experience from Egypt.
  • International experience or experience with working in foreign-owned subsidiaries is an advantage.
  • Preferably experience in the renewable industry, oil and gas, real estate or infrastructure sectors.
  • Preferably experience with administration of project-financed agreements, Projects agreements
  • Corporate governance and Board Presentation experience is an advantage.
  • Preferably with Financial Modelling experience ( i.e. Updating the Financial Model)
  • Fluent in English, spoken and written (and other languages if needed or ideal)
  • You are used to changing environments and to quickly meet new challenges
