Assistant Catering Manager

Job Description

The role involves supporting the catering manager in ensuring that food services are delivered efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Key Responsibilities:
Assist in overseeing the preparation and delivery of meals, ensuring that food is prepared to the highest quality standards.
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to manage meal schedules and ensure timely service.
Monitor food storage, inventory, and supply levels, ensuring all necessary ingredients and supplies are available.
  • Assist in supervising kitchen and catering staff, including cooks, servers, and cleaners.
Ensure that staff adhere to safety, hygiene, and quality standards.
  • Interact with clients to understand their catering needs and preferences.
Address any customer complaints or concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, including proper handling, storage, and food preparation.
Conduct regular inspections of the kitchen and dining areas to maintain cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Implement safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
Assist in managing the catering budget, including food, labour, and other operational expenses.
  • Help negotiate with suppliers to secure the best prices for ingredients and supplies.
Monitor and control waste to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  • Support planning and developing menus that meet client specifications and dietary requirements.
Ensure that all meals are nutritious, well-balanced, and visually appealing.
  • Conduct taste tests and quality checks to maintain high food standards.
Assist with ordering supplies, managing invoices, and maintaining food and labour cost records.
  • Prepare reports on catering activities, including performance metrics and customer feedback.
  • Key skills and qualifications:
Experience in Catering or Food Service Management: Prior experience in the food service industry, particularly in a large-scale or industrial setting, is essential.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Strong leadership skills are needed to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team.
Organizational skills: ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Customer Service Orientation: Strong interpersonal skills to handle client relations and resolve issues.Food Safety Knowledge: Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Budgeting and Cost Management: Basic financial acumen to assist in managing budgets and controlling costs.

Job Type: Full-time

Ability to commute/relocate:
  • Doha: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Education:
  • Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience:
  • Industrial Catering: 3 years (Required)

License/Certification:
  • QID (Preferred)
* HACCP Level 2 (Preferred)
  • HACCP Level 3 Plus (Preferred)

Location:
  • Doha (Required)
