Assistant Finance Manager ME FinOps

We are looking for an Assistant Finance Manager to join the Middle East Finance Operations Team to lead and manage various financial accounting and reporting matters including, but not limited to, month end processes, internal and external reporting, IFRS compliance etc for the Middle East & Africa region.
This role will report to the Regional Financial Controller.
Middle East Finance Operations team is responsible for managing the technical accounting, transactional processing and statutory and tax compliance for all AtkinsRealis companies operating in the Middle East & Africa region, ensuring all internal and external reporting deadlines are met. The team also ensures compliance with the Standard Operating Procedures and maintains and evaluates internal control which govern the core financial processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead coordinator for Internal and Group audits, with assistance from team members.
- Lead manager for the preparation, external audit and filing of statutory financial statements of all entities in the MEA region, including coordination with the tax team.
- Manage the team to ensure timely submission of other Statutory and Regulatory returns as they relate to finance including, but not limited to, Government Surveys, Bank Surveys etc.
- Support the Financial Controller and Finance Director on ad-hoc initiatives and analysis.
- Develop strong working relationships with team members and other key stakeholders.
- Manage subordinates ensuring their career development and coaching.
Technical Competencies
Essential
- Fully Qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA/CPA or other recognised Accounting qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years experience, preferably in the Middle East, with some experience of working in a compliance role for a construction/engineering consultancy organisation.
- Big 4 experience as a senior associate or above (PwC/EY/KPMG/Deloitte).
- Sound knowledge of IFRSs and disclosure requirements.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Working knowledge of other Microsoft Office tools.
- High standard of (numerical) presentation skills.
- Excellent communication in English (both written and oral).
- Experience of interacting with multiple businesses and finance functions.
- Experience of working within a multi-cultural environment.
- Proven ability to develop strong working relationships and communicate effectively at all levels.
Desirable
- Working knowledge of JD Edwards, Hyperion Finance Management (HFM), Smart View and other IT systems and databases.
- Knowledge of Data Modelling, PowerPivot and PowerBI tools is an advantage.
