Job purpose
The Talent Management Specialist is responsible for leading and managing key talent initiatives, including succession planning for high-potential employees, career pathing for the entire workforce, workforce planning, and competency framework management. This role involves designing and implementing strategies to develop employees at all levels, creating clear career development pathways, and ensuring effective workforce planning to meet organizational needs.
Key Responsibilities
Succession Planning:
- Develop and implement succession planning strategies to identify and nurture high-potential employees for key roles within the organization.
Career Pathing:
- Design and manage career development pathways for all employees, ensuring opportunities for growth and advancement across the organization.
Workforce Planning:
- Collaborate with HR and business leaders to anticipate workforce needs and develop plans to address talent gaps and future organizational requirements.
Competency Framework Management:
- Establish, maintain, and continuously improve a robust competency framework that aligns with organizational goals and drives employee performance.
Talent Meetings and Assessments:
- Lead regular talent review meetings and assessments to evaluate employee performance, potential, and development needs.
- Provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership on talent-related decisions.
Talent Evaluation:
- Evaluate talent based on employee strengths, leveraging tools to identify and develop individual capabilities.
Employee Retention:
- Develop and implement strategies to improve employee retention, including creating a positive work environment, enhancing employee engagement, and offering career development opportunities.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with all HR departments, including Talent Acquisition, Learning and Development, and Compensation & Benefits, to ensure alignment of talent management strategies.
- Foster a collaborative environment to support integrated talent solutions across the organization.
Data-Driven Insights:
- Utilize data and analytics to inform talent management strategies and measure the effectiveness of initiatives.
- Provide regular reports and updates to senior leadership on talent management metrics and outcomes.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in talent management.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness of talent management programs and processes.
Education and experience
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 3+ Proven experience in talent management, succession planning, career development, and workforce planning.
- Strong understanding of competency frameworks and their application in talent management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
- Proficiency in data analysis and HR analytics tools.
