Job Purpose:
- Assist the Business Manager & Product Manager Islamic Banking in delivering the overall Islamic Product & Business agenda in terms of business development & marketing communications.
- Assist in the delivery of Islamic Sales numbers (specifically in SME) directly liaising on ground with the Sales teams of Business Banking, Personal Loans, Cards DSA & DST, Business Accounts/Bancassurance.
- Drive the Business Banking deliverables with relevant Product & Sales Managers. Business Banking experience/orientation is preferable.
- Overlapping with the product and proposition units to assist in the operational processes on ground with front end teams, while liaising with CCAM, Cr. Ops, Wealth Ops. Ensure that the teams are well trained as well as they are well equipped with offering Islamic product solutions to the customers and all regulatory requirements regarding the business growth are being adhered to, on a day-to-day basis, according to the engagement calendar.
- Responsible for ensuring the Shariah Governance/Legal/Compliance clearances and managing the Controls/RCSAs/Regulatory Checks Customer communications/marketing collaterals are in place. Assisting in managing the entire suite of Customer Communications & Collaterals with Marketing.
Key Result Areas:
- Assisting in Sales & Business Development for Islamic Product lines
- Work directly on ground with the sales teams to propel the Islamic business development across the product lines such as Personal Loans, Cards, CASA, Business Accounts, Bancassurance with all the channels, specific focus on Business Banking strategy.
- The incumbent would be a key liaison b/w frontline, product houses for Business Banking segment, and act as a catalyst to ensure that any gaps are quickly addressed with the Product team, and solutions implement to push the business growth
- Participates in product development process/UATs and ensures the front-end feedback collected
- Ensures that the market & frontline feedback is gathered and included in the proposition development
- Audit/Governance/Controls
- Assist the Product team in ensuring the adherence to SOPs, Product Manuals, PPGs, SLAs, Process Notes, OPMs, MER, OIRs where required and applicable
- Conduct spot checks of AAOIFI related implementations (during the sales process) with back offices to ensure that there are no gaps, which can expose the bank to regulatory observations and reviews.
- Key Capabilities Development & Engagement & business impact for the frontline
- Ensures quality capability/training programs are developed, customized for the channels, effectively delivered, and results are properly compiled & documented with strong result orientation with an aim to grow the business and support & guide low/nonperformers to augment their performance levels as required by the business.
- Conduct regular performance sessions with sales managers and sales staff to ensure that product performance continues to improve, that performance is tracked and immediately addressed with respective frontline managers.
- Directly responsible for Capabilities Development of the front end on Islamic Products
- Shall be responsible for running (with the Business Manager, Islamic Banking) frontline training, development, & coaching programs by providing effective on-ground knowledge, enhancing Islamic Products selling skills
- Constant monitoring & regular visits to branches, DST offices, across UAE to provide Hard Skills updates, quick resolutions to queries & ensure smooth processing of cases.
- Customer Experience / Marketing / Product Trainings
- Works with Marketing and Customer Experience Group to drive Islamic banking marketing and awareness; Work with the marketing team to conduct requisite research on the Islamic banking proposition to enhance Islamic Banking advertising including ATL and BTL, and assist in conducting marketing activities, to enhance Islamic banking awareness in the market.
- Drive SME marketing plans with the Product Houses & Marketing unit
- Customer Relationship Mgmt./Operational Support
- Assist the Product Mgr. in Inquiries/Servicing of Customers financing/deposit accounts - pertaining to omitted/inappropriate profits, charges into the account, amortization clarifications, which are critical for the Customer Experience, and require dedicated focus with CXCG for closures.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 7-8 years of hands-on experience in dealing with sales teams and driving the business
- Good understanding of the products, how they function and ability to adapt quickly
- Decent Understanding of Shariah Governance concepts, and proven track record of close liaison with support/product units to ensure business goals are met and sales is propelled to meet business goals
- Ability to lead close critical items independently, coordinating with all the other product teams, with product teams keeping focus on customer centricity
- Good analytical, problem solving, planning, interpersonal and presentation skills, with an accountability on end user requirement
- Strong commercial orientation and effective people management skills
