Your new role, what's involved
WSP Abu Dhabi is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Resident Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in project planning within the construction consultancy sector, with a strong focus on utilities and infrastructure projects. Recent experience working in Abu Dhabi is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Support and Supervision:
Assist the Resident Engineer in overseeing the execution of utilities and infrastructure projects.
Supervise daily on-site activities, ensuring compliance with design specifications, standards, and regulations.
Quality Assurance and Control:
Support the implementation and maintenance of quality control procedures to ensure that all construction work meets the required standards.
Conduct regular site inspections and audits to monitor progress and identify any issues or non-conformities.
Stakeholder Coordination:
Assist in facilitating communication between WSP, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Ensure effective collaboration among all parties involved in the project.
Technical Assistance:
Provide technical support and guidance on engineering and construction-related issues.
Help identify and resolve technical problems or challenges that arise during the project lifecycle.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation, including daily reports and progress updates.
Assist in preparing regular project status reports for clients and senior management.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:
Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations on-site.
Promote a culture of safety, conducting safety briefings, and ensuring that all workers are trained and equipped to work safely.
Risk Management:
Identify potential project risks and assist in developing mitigation strategies.
Monitor project progress and support the implementation of corrective actions as needed.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in project planning and execution within the construction consultancy sector.
Recent experience in Abu Dhabi is mandatory.
Extensive experience in utilities and infrastructure projects.
Strong understanding of UAE construction laws, regulations, and industry standards.
