An organisation are looking for a highly skilled Assistant Vice President of Domain Support (Qatarization) to join a prestigious financial institution in Doha, Qatar. This permanent role will focus on ensuring comprehensive support for the bank's computer systems, aligned with IT standards and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shareholder & Financial:
- Ensure comprehensive support for all areas of the bank with appropriate computer systems in alignment with IT standards.
- Assist in developing strategies, standards, and guidelines for hardware, software, and security for the Group's enterprise domain network.
- Implement KPIs and best practices for AVP Domain Support.
- Foster a culture of cost efficiency and productivity to minimize costs and optimize benefits for the bank.
- Operate within the limits of delegated authority.
- Customer (Internal & External):
- Maintain communication with the Head of Technical Support, acting as a liaison between the Domain team and clients.
- Provide support for non-core servers and infrastructure applications, including upgrades, installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Oversee administrators and consultants as required.
- Collaborate with Program Directors and Management to establish efficient workflows.
- Prepare performance measurement reports in collaboration with Quality Assurance staff.
- Ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to improve turnaround times and service quality.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with relevant departments to achieve the Group's objectives.
- Provide timely data to auditors, compliance, financial control, and risk management as needed.
- Internal (Processes, Products, Regulatory):
- Standardize practices and procedures based on best practice methodologies.
- Specify hardware and software solutions for Division users.
- Analyze, diagnose, and repair systems, ensuring optimal performance.
- Collaborate with management to plan the development of computer infrastructure.
- Lead documentation efforts for issues related to hardware and software.
- Assist in developing business continuity and contingency planning strategies.
- Participate in the recruitment process for resources within the domain.
- Research and recommend current and new products and standards.
- Organize backup staffing for critical tasks and personnel.
- Lead vendor selection and contract assignments per the Group's purchasing policy.
- Initiate project meetings to discuss assignments and progress.
- Administer all servers, ensuring maximum uptime and productivity.
- Implement software patches and upgrades and address user requests as necessary.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Lead improvement initiatives through cross-functional teams.
- Encourage the adoption of best practices and innovative ideas.
- Recognize and reward creative solutions to daily challenges.
- Learning & Knowledge:
- Provide end-user training as required.
- Maintain high technical knowledge to support network systems effectively.

- Legal, Regulatory, and Risk Framework Responsibilities:
- Comply with all legal, regulatory, and internal compliance requirements, including AML, CTF, and Data Protection policies.
- Understand and effectively perform within the framework of the Three Lines of Defence.
- Support operational risk management through reporting and remediation processes.
- Maintain appropriate knowledge and complete all mandatory training provided by the bank.
- Other Responsibilities:
- Ensure high standards of data protection and confidentiality.
- Uphold professional standards to enhance the bank's reputation and market leadership.
- Perform ad hoc duties as required by management.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial services, specializing in systems network design, implementation, and maintenance.
