Job Purpose:
- The position consists of overseeing the company's accounts receivable operations, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, collections, and dispute resolution.
- The role requires a thorough understanding of IFRS to ensure compliance in revenue recognition standards.
- This position will work closely with cross-functional teams including sales, commercial, tax and legal to optimize the receivables performance, minimize bad debt exposure, and enhance cash flow across RSG group.
Job Responsibilities:
- Account Receivable Management: Oversee the full cycle of accounts receivable, including customer billing, collections, and reconciliation of accounts. Monitor the aging of receivables and ensure timely action on overdue accounts, developing proactive collection strategies. Ensure accurate cash application to customer accounts and resolve payment discrepancies efficiently.
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategies to optimize the AR function, improve DSO (Days Sales Outstanding), and ensure timely collections. Set performance goals, KPIs, and drive improvements in overall working capital management.
- IFRS Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to IFRS (Revenue Recognition) by developing processes and controls to monitor and report revenue accurately, ensuring appropriate revenue recognition criteria are met. Work closely to address complex accounting issues and determine the appropriate recognition of revenue for various contracts.
- Credit Control and Reporting: Maintain reports on accounts receivable performance, including aging reports, cash collection forecasts, and risk assessments. Ensuring accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, especially with respect to IFRS and consolidation requirements.
- Internal Controls and Compliance: Establish and maintain strong internal controls and compliance procedures related to revenue recognition and accounts receivable processes. Regularly review and update policies to reflect changes in IFRS, company practices, and regulatory requirements. Conduct periodic audits and reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor the Accounts Receivable team, providing training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in both AR management and IFRS standards. Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and excellence within the team.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams such as sales, operations, and legal to resolve customer disputes, streamline billing processes, and review contracts terms. Providing support to external auditors during audit reviews.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA, ACCA, or other relevant professional certifications.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounts receivable, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS, with particular emphasis on Revenue Recognition and Leases.
- Proficiency in financial accounting systems and ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Strong leadership, team management, and mentorship capabilities.
- Excellent communication and ability to work cross-function.
- Problem-solving skills and a results-oriented approach.
