People
The Associate Director works with the Business Director in leading the media team, designing, and interpreting advertising strategies and is responsible for the quality of media planning, presentations and buying for all businesses of the team. They are also responsible for the administration and organization of the team and the development of staff.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the day-to-day workings of the client team in conjunction with the Business Director offering support, training and insight to team members
- Understands client's overall business and marketing objectives displaying a sound knowledge of all media, including TV, Print, Radio, Outdoor, Online and Social, working efficiently as part of an overall integrated team
- Works closely with the team to develop and deliver upon Performance Media KPIs for conversions to brand app usage
- Works with Insights Manager/Team to drive communications planning and new ways of thinking
- Able to have oversight of ad managers and align with team and client on optimizations and insights across partners on Digital media
- Gets involved in maintaining the overall business growth of client accounts
- Manage a staff of media professionals. Develop the staff through performance management and giving consistent feedback. Identify with staff, developmental opportunities and help them to work toward their professional goals
- Manage human resource administration with the HR team, which includes maintaining staff levels through effective recruiting, salary administration, performance management and conflict resolution
- Promote an open working environment where opinions, views and ideas can be shared
- Sound knowledge of IMS (Integrated Marketing Solutions) and acts as an industry expert on the client and media landscape
- Involved in planning and recommendation for key initiatives
- Quality control of all written media evaluations, recommendations, and presentations to clients
- Leads new business pitches
- Pro-actively seek creative media opportunities appropriate to specific clients
- Remains up to date on industry research and drives development in this area training key members of staff and acting as a knowledge hub for team members
- Builds a strong profile in the industry for the client group and agency alike
- Involved in all major Client negotiations with the media in conjunction with the Buying Director
- Ensures all Client budgets are being controlled and oversees billing
- Responsible for the professionalism and performance of the team and driving team culture
- Oversees and is responsible for the smooth running of all client/supplier and interdepartmental relationships
- Leads best practice presentations internally and contributes to innovation and idea generation across the agency
