NYU Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint an Associate Director of Financial Planning and Analysis reporting to Executive Director, Strategy, Budget and Operations for Stern at NYUAD.

The Associate Director of Financial Planning and Analysis reports directly to the Executive Director of Strategy, Budget, and Operations. This position plays a crucial role in overseeing financial planning and operations for Stern at NYUAD. The Associate Director of Financial Planning and Analysis is responsible for budget preparation and financial reporting to ensure compliance with University policies and procedures. This role will support key decision-makers in making informed financial decisions. This role will also help to develop and allocate financial resources, collaborating with senior leadership to provide expert financial advice.
Key Responsibilites:
Financial Resource Management
Collaborate with the Executive Director, Strategy, Budget, and Operations to develop and allocate financial resources. Consult with senior leadership to determine funding strategies, evaluate cost estimates, recommend tuition and fundraising targets, and implement financial strategies to achieve
Financial Activity Analysis
Conduct thorough analyses and comprehensive reporting on financial activities across administrative and academic departments. Forecast budget trajectories, summarize findings for executive review, and uphold fiscal accountability and stewardship
Management Reporting and Analysis
Lead efforts with the Executive Director, Strategy, Budget, and Operations to enhance management reporting capabilities and develop revenue and expense analysis models. Manage the Budget and Financial Planning Office, overseeing staffing, training, and ensuring compliance with financial policies
Strategic Planning
Collaborate with the Executive Director, Strategy, Budget, and Operations on developing short- and long-term business plans for large-scale projects and initiatives. Work with stakeholders to ensure efficient project implementation and present key performance indicators to senior leadership
Research and Best Practices
Research and provide reports on financial management practices of peer institutions and businesses. Stay abreast of industry trends to recommend enhancements to Stern's financial operationsQualifications:
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent
Preferred Education:
Master's Degree
CPA, CMA, CFA, CGMA
Required Experience:
7+ years experience in financial management, preferrably in higher education and non-profit sectors
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
Excellent communication skills and a track record of effective collaborationAdditional Information:
