Assistant / Associate Professor Positions in Computer Science

Position description

Khalifa University is a leading academic institution dedicated to providing world-class education, research, and innovation. The Department of Computer Science within the College of Computing and Mathematical Sciences at Khalifa University covers a wide array of fields including information systems, computer and information security, software engineering, Internet of Things, embedded systems, computer vision, artificial intelligence, among others. The faculty members conduct cutting-edge research on a wide range of topics within these fields. The department provides Bachelor of Science degrees in Computer Science and M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.

The department invites applications for multiple positions in all areas of Computer Science at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Special consideration will be given to candidates in the areas of Software Engineering, Databases, Artificial Intelligence, Security and Quantum Computing. Exceptional candidates at the Full Professor level with at least two years of experience in that rank will also be considered. Research and teaching interests may include, but are not limited to, software engineering, security, databases, quantum computing, operating systems, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.

Qualifications

A Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related disciplines from an accredited institution is required. Preference will be given to candidates with education from and/or previous service in distinguished institutions of higher education. The successful candidates will join a vibrant and forward-thinking department with a focus on cutting-edge research and excellence in education. We are seeking candidates, preferably specialized in Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Security, Data Bases, and Quantum Computing, to contribute to our academic mission. The candidates are expected to engage in high-impact research, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, mentor and advise students, fostering intellectual curiosity and research excellence and actively participate in the academic community.

Assistant Professor- A minimum of 2 years of experience relevant to the position and proven research potential.

Associate Professor -A minimum of 8 years of experience relevant to the position, out of which at least 5 years should be at the level of Assistant Professor

Candidates should demonstrate expertise in various areas of Computer Science, have an established research reputation or outstanding research potential, strong publication record in top venues including leading conferences and journals, the ability to attract external research funding, and a strong commitment to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

The candidate's CV should include the following information, among others: Field of Specialization, Academic Qualifications, Academic Honors and Awards, Membership of Professional Bodies; Summary of Courses Taught, Participation in Academic Accreditation if any; Students Supervised by Level, Complete List of Publications, Citation Data from Scopus and Scholar with links, Research Grants Obtained; Membership of Conference Committees, Membership of Journal Editorial Boards, and Service as Reviewer.
