Manage an end-to-end shipment of goods in the most timely and economic manner ensuring best value for the company in line with its strategic, financial and operational requirements.
Plan and oversee local and global shipments, negotiating with various stakeholders and ensuring excellent customer service.
Working with customs brokers and freight forwarders on inbound and outbound shipments, providing necessary documentation and details to clear shipments.
Ensure compliance with export/import industry laws and regulations.
Provide quotes for large orders, handle tender documents, and finalize contracts for successful bids.
Monitor order processing and address complaints or queries.
Possess knowledge of export/import laws and regulations.
Liaise with authorities such as DAFZA, JAFZA, customs, municipalities and pertinent authorities for compliance on product listings/registration and smooth clearance of goods.
Coordinate contracts, negotiate with third parties and suppliers and handle transportation logistics.
Assist in inventory management, ensuring accurate tracking of quality, quantity, and stock levels.
Ensure and maintain an effective and timely order management and acknowledgement system.
Liaises with the Finance Department for opening Letters of Credit, transfers, and Bank Delivery Order for shipment covered by L/C.
Coordinate with various departments for the smooth operation of day-to-day activities.
Keep logs and records of warehouse stock, supervise inventory of raw materials and arrange stocking.
To create and implement effective processes and procedures to ensure the accurate recording of all warehouse transactions.
Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, security, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the operation.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
Qualifications
A proactive, team-oriented mindset with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment.
Proven experience in trade operations, logistics, or customs compliance.
Strong knowledge of local and international trade regulations and customs procedures.
Knowledge of laws, regulations and ISO/HACCP requirements
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Proficiency in English is mandatory both verbally and written.
A bachelor's Degree from an accredited three-year college or university is preferred
Previous experience in customer-centric roles (retail, food service, etc.)
Experience with pets or healthy-foods is preferred.
