DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES About The Role
Our company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Audit & Compliance Controller to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for for overlooking internal controls and compliance in the local business at an operational level for Middle-East. The candidate must promote compliance and enforce the EXN Group Compliance Program within the business. Additionally, the candidate must ensure the key controls are in place at various business functions of the organisation. This position demands a proactive approach to problem-solving, an innovative mindset, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to foster a collaborative and productive work environment to enhance operational effectiveness and risk management.
As a Audit and Compliance Controller, you will:
- For all new third parties onboarded, ensure all the onboarding documents are in place and the onboarding is effectively done within the due diligence tool. Support the local team for any related concerns.
- For any third party not fully approved, liaise with the business owner and work to complete the onboarding process.
- Liaise with group compliance and execute annual compliance training (preferably onsite) or any other relevant and requested training for the entire team.
- As an Ethics Champion, ensure the mandatory compliance communication is shared by you and the Country Manager with the entire team.
- Archive and monitor compliance activities/communication as discussed and agreed with the compliance manager in the quarterly ethics champion calls.
- Track and chase the team for policy acknowledgments and timely declarations to be made within the various compliance tools.
- Ensure the Quarterly Internal Controls Newsletter is shared by the Country Manager to the team.
- Liaise with the group internal controls and risk and compliance teams, follow-up locally on the open action plans and aim to effectively close them.
- Support the relevant teams to ensure the key controls are implemented.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE About You
The ideal Audit and Compliance Controller will have:
- Chartered Accountant (CPA/ACCA).
- Audit firm experience (preferably top 5).
- Experience in external and/or internal audit.
- Analytical mind with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail with superb organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure.
