We are seeking a Automatic Fare Collection Expert as a part of our DB Engineering & Consulting GmbH, KSA Branch. The job opening is located in Saudi Arabia and offers exciting challenges and potential for career growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing expert knowledge for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of automated fare collection systems.

  • Involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of technolo-gy, optimizing user experience, and enhancing operational efficiency within public transportation systems.

  • Lead the development and deployment of AFC systems, including ticketing software, hard-ware components, and mobile applications.

  • Provide technical guidance on fare collection technologies, including smart cards, mobile payments, and contactless systems.

  • Work with transportation authorities, vendors, and IT teams to ensure system alignment with operational needs and regulatory requirements.

  • Develop user manuals and conduct training sessions for staff and end-users on AFC systems.

  • Ensure all AFC processes comply with relevant regulations and maintain data security protocols.

  • Identify opportunities for system enhancements and innovations in fare collection technology.

  • Project Supervision and management of AFC Team and subcontractor.

  • Proactively advise in how to resolve design and development problems with other team members in the Consultant side.

Qualifications:

  • B.Sc. degree in Electrical, Electronics and Information Technology or similar.

  • Minimum 15 years of professional experience in automatic fare collection systems or related technology fields in railways and transport projects on similar position.

  • Previous experience with comparable projects in the Middle East region and experience in KSA advantage.

  • Experience in Site Supervision and management in the design, supply, installation, testing & commissioning of fare collection technologies in metro and other railway transport projects.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory authorities.

  • Ability to prepare detailed and effective presentations.

  • Ability to communicate technical concepts and provide a good level of guidance and supervision to more junior staff.

  • Fluent in both English & Arabic language. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, are essential to success in this role.

  • IT Literate and experience with MS Office Applications (MS Office), Outlook, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Share Point Online.

  • Driving license required in order to perform assigned duties
