We are looking for a baker/pastry chef to join our small team and create exceptional artisanal and pastry goods.

At Alica we specialize in naturally-leavened bread and laminated pastries and offer a weekly changing seasonal lunch and snack menu.
Our ethos is simple: Work with local farms and craftsmen who share the belief that good quality ingredients should be for everyone. We will do our utmost to source local, seasonal and organic produce from the UAE.
Follow recipes and production schedules to ensure the timely and consistent
creation of bakery items.
Operate baking equipment with precision and attention to detail.
Prepare and portion dough according to established recipes.
Monitor fermentation and proofing processes to achieve optimal product
quality.
Bake a variety of bread and pastry products, ensuring they meet the bakery's
quality standards.
Apply finishing touches, such as glazes or toppings, to enhance the
appearance of baked goods.
Conduct visual inspections and taste tests to guarantee the quality and
freshness of products.
Report any issues with equipment or ingredients to the Head Baker.
- Cleanliness and Organization:
Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to hygiene and safety
protocols.
Assist in general cleaning duties to keep the bakery in top condition.
Work collaboratively with other team members both bakery and kitchen to
achieve daily production goals.
Communicate effectively with the Head Baker and other staff members, as
well as kitchen chefs
- Our dream type will have the following:
Knowledge of bread, sourdough and laminated pastry preparation
BOTH MANDATORY Previous experience as a baker or pastry chef
Knowledge of baking techniques, ingredient functionality, and basic pastry or bread skills.
Ability to follow recipes and production schedules accurately.
Detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining high-quality standards.
Adaptability to a fast-paced work environment.
