Overview:
Paramount Students, an innovative edtech startup simplifying student recruitment, is seeking a highly experienced and connected professional to join our board of directors. As a board member focused on fundraising and strategic development, you will play a critical role in guiding our financial strategy, assisting in securing working capital, and ensuring we meet our growth milestones. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence the trajectory of a company committed to revolutionizing higher education globally. Compensation for this role will be equity-based.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic guidance and oversight on fundraising initiatives to secure working capital and support growth objectives.
- Leverage professional network to connect Paramount Students with potential investors, partners, and funding opportunities.
- Advise on financial planning, budgeting, and resource allocation to ensure alignment with company goals.
- Participate in quarterly board meetings and additional strategy sessions as needed.
- Collaborate with the executive team to develop and refine business strategies and ensure effective implementation.
- Monitor progress towards financial milestones and offer insights to address challenges and opportunities.
- Assist in preparing pitch materials, investor presentations, and other documentation required for fundraising efforts.
- Foster relationships with key stakeholders, including educational institutions, government bodies, and industry associations.
- Uphold and promote the company's mission, values, and commitment to improving higher education.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in fundraising, investment, or financial strategy, preferably within the edtech or startup sectors.
- Strong network of contacts within the investment community, including venture capitalists, angel investors, and institutional investors.
- Excellent understanding of financial planning, analysis, and budgeting.
- Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Passion for education and a commitment to supporting the growth and success of students worldwide.
- Prior experience serving on a board of directors or in a similar advisory role is highly desirable.
