Job Summary
We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Bookkeeping Accountant to provide comprehensive financial services for our third-party client in the construction and hospitality sectors. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can manage diverse accounting tasks, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and deliver accurate financial reporting. The successful candidate will work closely with the client's management team to support their financial needs and contribute to their overall business success.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for construction and hospitality operations.
- Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
- Reconcile bank accounts and general ledgers regularly.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Manage accounts payable including invoice processing, vendor payments, and expense reports.
- Oversee accounts receivable, issue invoices, and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Payroll Management:
- Process payroll accurately and on time for all employees.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal payroll regulations.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Generate financial reports such as balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the development of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor actual vs. budget performance and report variances.
- Tax Compliance:
- Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors as needed.
- Job Costing and Project Accounting:
- Track and allocate costs to specific construction projects.
- Prepare project-specific financial reports and analyses.
- Internal Controls:
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard financial assets.
- Regularly review and update financial policies and procedures.
- Client Support:
- Provide financial insights and advice to the client's management team.
- Support the client with any financial inquiries or issues.
- Software and Systems Management:
- Utilize accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and other relevant tools effectively.
- Ensure data integrity and security in financial systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience, with a focus on construction and hospitality industries.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g.QuickBooks, Sage).
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
