Job Objective
Manage all related activities to financial planning, analysis and reporting activitiesfor JCSA, maintaining financial statements in accordance with the international standards, and developing short and long-term financial projections and forecasts as well as all related activities to development & preparation financial budgets across JCSA (e.g Annual Budgets) in coordination with directorates heads in order to provide them with the needed funds to perform their operational and strategic plans. Work collaboratively with other functions to group the efforts of the teams towards the achievement of JCSA's strategic objectives.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities
Organizational Strategy
Contribute to the development of the strategic and
operational plan and manage the implementation of activities.
Continuously monitor the performance of team
members to ensure performance deviations are identified in a timely manner, and
actions are implemented to meet performance targets.
Operational
Develop the Financial Planning and Reporting plan, ensure
its alignment with the directorate's strategy, and manage its implementation.
Supervise the financial planning, analysis and reporting activities to
ensure their effectiveness and efficiency.
Manage the annual budgeting exercise in coordination with all
directorates to determine the funds required to cover the projected
expenditures for the year, and alignment with JCSA's strategic and operational
plans.
Manage reconciliation of accounts, including recording of
journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
Manage the development and implementation of a cost control approach
aimed at ensuring the adherence to laws and regulations, and leading financial
standards.
Manage budget periodic reviews to identify
variances between forecast and actual budgets , and highlight justification in
coordination with related functions
Monitor and analyze total-project cost forecasts and coordinate with the
team to manage and update cash flow projections.
Maintain the internal control procedures related to
financial information systems, and suggest efficiency improvements where required.
Prepare and review a wide range of reports providing financial analysis,
insight and recommendations, including budget variance reports, periodic
reports focusing on financial reporting.
Supervise and facilitate external and internal audit
requirements including ensuring proper and timely disposition of process or
system improvement recommendations.
Recommend actions to management to improve financial status
based on the results of financial analysis.
Ensure the implementation of international accounting
standards.
Ensure the completion of activities on time, within budget
and with quality.
Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best
practices in the financial planning and reporting field, and provide advice to improve work outcomes activities.
Policies, Procedures and Guidelines
Provide input to support the development of the directorate's
systems, policies, processes, and procedures.
Ensure team members compliance and adherence
with all policies, processes, standard operating procedures so that work is
carried out in a controlled and consistent manner
Management Reporting
Report to the director on the progress of activities against
the annual business plans, opportunities, challenges and issues faced,
mitigations taken, etc. as required, to make an informed decision.
Propose recommendations/alternatives basis
analysis to senior-level management and provide direction on areas needing
additional research or improvement.
People Supervision
Work hand in hand with the direct reports to develop their
personal development plans.
Conduct and review performance appraisals for direct reports
to identify areas of development and areas of strength.
Identify the workforce, recruitment, training and
development needs to ensure the availability and readiness of competent,
qualified and highly motivated staff.
Contribute to fostering an inclusive workplace where
diversity and individual differences are valued and leveraged to achieve the
vision and mission of JCSA.
Help in building a learning organization that will continue
to grow, flourish and enhance the skills and abilities of employees.
Create an environment that facilitates healthy
relationships among all team members.
Other Related Assignments
Perform other related duties or assignments as directed.
Conduct business in an ethical and professional
manner and uphold and adhere to JCSA's policies and procedures
Required Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or any other relevant field
Professional Certification is a plus (e.g. CPA,CMA)
Required Years of Experience
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience, 2 years of which are in managerial role
