Building Materials Helper

Job Description

• ROLE DETAILS:
  
  Position Title Helper MUST HAVE 2 YEARS EXPERIENCE IN BUILDING MATERIALS
  
  Reports to Manager

• ROLE PURPOSE
  
  · Scanning core tags and labels
  
  · Operating pallet jack, fork lift, bander and tilt lock
  
  · Cleaning compactor room, emptying dumpster, sweeping, other housekeeping duties as needed
  
  · Load pallets with film and put them on the pallet lift
  
  · Performs hands-on repairs/maintenance work
  
  · Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager executes the preventive maintenance program that minimizes emergency repairs and service repairs
  
  · Understands and adheres to the budget guidelines
  
  · Unload coal railcars
  
  · Operate and maintain coal conveyors
  
  · Perform general housekeeping around the facility
  

• RESPONSIBILITIES
  
• Recommends modifications, revisions, and improvements in facilities, procedures, and methods.

Orders, receives, and records the receipt and issuance of supplies, equipment, and products in accordance with established procedures.

• Maintains daily receiving and outgoing records.

Maintains the tagging and recording of new items.

• Oversees physical inventories and maintains computerized inventory records.

Prepares items and materials for routine, bulk, and express mailings.

• Stocks supplies and equipment in assigned storeroom/area.

Receive and verify items delivered by carriers and freight companies.

• COMPETENCIES
  
• Able to work in heights of 8 feet or above, climb ladders, work alone and self-directed.

Professional interpersonal skills to work effectively, establish, and maintain working relationships with a diverse population and function.

• Cooperatively and productively as a member of a team.

Keep accurate receiving and sending inventory records.

• Plan, lead, and organize the work of others and direct workflow for smooth and effective operation of the work unit.

Forecast supply needs of routine items.

• QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
  
• High school diploma or equivalent

2 years experience in the same field.

• Ability to work and develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with colleagues.

· Ability to work in dry dock, shop and ship board environments

· Prefer experience in Industrial wiring

· Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach overhead

· This is a part-time, temporary position create your own schedule that fits with your life

· Preferred 6 months to 1 year experience working in a shop environment

· Background in prep work, paint shop, or sandblasting is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED800.00 - AED1,400.00 per month
