The Role
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for assisting in driving forward key initiatives in line with the firms global strategy. These will include; managing key client relationships, delivering on key initiatives and delivering high-quallity pitches.
Key Responsibilities
Researching the ME markets and identifying key areas of growth, client and product opportunities;
Assisting and liaising regularly with the Partner heads of the Clifford Chance ME office.
Identifying appropriate client entertainment initiatives and organising client events;
Participating in the organisation of seminars or presentations;
Organising and suggesting themes for thought leadership campaigns and client briefings;
Creating and maintaining appropriate client mailing lists;
Leading meetings, agreeing strategy and messaging, drafting and reviewing content from a marketing perspective.
You will be expected to keep colleagues up to date on proposals trends and approaches being used in the market and in Clifford Chance globally.
Play an active role in obtaining post-pitch feedback from clients and also facilitate internal pitch debriefs.
You will be expected to bring innovation and new ideas to proposals.
You will be continually developing best practice.
Work closely with internal stakeholders (both Partners and C&MD teams) to deliver bespoke pitch training and strategic pitch advice.
Working with local PR teams to ensure the Group is promoted both internally and externally;
Ensuring all information and materials relating to the Group are maintained and easily accessible to the wider Firm;
Preparing annual legal directory submissions and submissions for appropriate industry awards;
Assisting the Firm to identify pro bono initiatives across the region;
Working closely with Partners and Business Development management and other Business Development team members;
Co-ordinating and managing client relationships globally; ensuring that we are delivering value-added services to the client and responding quickly to requests for information; and
Participating in client management, client planning, and pitching to clients
Qualifications
Your experience
The successful candidate should have:
You will have an interest in and enthusiasm for the region;
You will be intelligent, pragmatic and have the ability to multi-task.
You will have strong project management skills.
You will have experience of working on competitive proposals and pitches, ideally within the professional services market.
You will have excellent English language skills. Arabic language skills would be a plus, but are not essential for this role.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills will be important.
Excellent presentation skills and leadership skills are a must as you will be regularly presenting to and influencing senior Partners.
You must be a strong team-player.
You must be able to withstand pressure and be able to prioritise so as to respect deadlines.
You will have strong Microsoft Office skills (Word; PowerPoint; and Excel).
You will ideally have had some exposure to intranet development and use of content management systems.
You must be degree qualified, ideally with post-graduate qualifications in marketing or strategy.
