What you'll do:

Develop and implement Namshi's Footwear, Bags and Accessories Buying Strategy with a view to supporting the successful achievement of Namshi's goals and objectives. Be an integral member of the Fashion team, re-focusing & planning the department to maximize our brands full selling potential while still maintaining our group strategy in line with our team KPIs.

  • Review and analyze sales reports for all brands, products, categories and price levels including best/worst sellers and use this to aid future buying decisions, maximizing sales and minimizing risk.
  • Analyze weekly sales to ensure all brands are trending correctly in line with sales plans.
  • Plan deliveries in line with sales targets & % mix by category, price level and stock levels to achieve sales, profitability and turnover
  • Understand product and pricing analysis to inform pricing strategy and manage all spend within budgetary requirements.
  • Work closely with your Merchandising counterpart to make selections from identified Brands based on robust analysis of sales and inventory data, developing the assortment within your category and working to budget and price levels as defined by, and with, the Merchandising team
  • Have a clear plan, strategy and direction for your own portfolio on a monthly basis and be ready to report on progress ad hoc, as well as monthly. Provide detailed data inputs for complete category reviews as well as supporting them with own perspective of potential opportunities. Use data to create good positioning arguments.
  • Accumulate trend information and generally maintain market awareness in keeping with our target customer to inform and analyze buying decisions and product performance.Actively participate in assortment development and review, providing data and analysis to support decision-making whilst owning product selection oversight
  • Coach and inspire junior members of the team
  • Proactively identify strong and weak selling items and make adjustments to your selection strategy accordingly.
  • Meet and manage suppliers with a view to building robust and preferential relationships and secure timely delivery of orders.
  • Prioritize and secure favorable credit terms with suppliers
  • Manage inventory levels through ordering sufficient quantities of product while ensuring best performers are adequately stocked and poor performers are cleared (negotiate returns to supplier and mark down contribution). Derisk the business from aging inventory
  • Reconcile top-down budgets with bottom-up department plans and forecasts alongside the Merchandiser
  • Manage monthly department level open-to-buy activities whilst ensuring alignment of multiple business plans to department objectives

  • Sell through in conjunction with unavailability
  • Favorable credit terms with vendors
  • Favorable discounts and margins with vendors
  • Accurate fulfillment of budgets
  • Monitoring and Analysis of sales performance and action plans for replenishments or liquidation of excess stock
  • Demonstrate team leadership and development of more junior members in the team

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in business development or a similar field
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in a similar role
  • Highly detail oriented with proven strong business sense
  • Category and ecommerce experience is an added bonus
  • Analytical, numerically astute with strong demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
  • Able to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks and achieve set targets.
  • Commercial and financial awareness with a full understanding of how failure impacts the customer order fulfillment as well as profitability.
  • Able to work well under pressure and handle emergency and stressful situations.
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy.
