The Camps Operations Manager is responsible for the effective management and operation of all camp activities, facilities, and staff. This role ensures that the camp delivers a high-quality experience for campers, adheres to safety regulations, and operates efficiently. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a passion for creating memorable and enriching experiences for campers.
Oversee day-to-day camp operations, including scheduling, staff management, and activity coordination.
- Ensure that camp facilities, including cabins, recreational areas, and dining halls, are well-maintained, clean, and safe.
Assist in recruiting, training, and supervising camp staff, including counselors, activity leaders, and support personnel.- Monitor staff performance, provide feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.
Develop and implement a diverse range of engaging and age-appropriate activities and programs for campers.
- Continuously assess and improve program quality to ensure it meets the camp's standards and camper expectations.
Develop and enforce safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for campers and staff.- Prepare and implement emergency response plans and conduct regular drills.
Address camper and parent inquiries, concerns, and feedback in a timely and professional manner.
- Conduct camper and parent orientations to provide information about camp policies, activities, and expectations.
Assist in managing the camp budget, including monitoring expenses and ensuring cost-effective operations.- Ensure that resources, such as equipment and supplies, are adequately stocked and properly maintained.
Support marketing efforts to attract new campers and promote the camps programs and offerings.
- Assist with the enrollment process and maintain accurate records of camper registrations.
- Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience in camp management, outdoor education, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with campers, staff, and parents.- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of safety regulations and emergency response procedures relevant to camp settings.
- Prior experience managing large groups and complex logistics in a camp or similar environment.
