Category Associate Manager | MAF Global Solutions | Procurement
Role Summary
The role of the Category Manager will be responsible for executing the Food and Beverage / Hospitality sourcing strategy across all Majid Al Futtaim operating countries and operating companies. The category includes Ambient, dairy, protein, beverages, bakery, fresh fruits and vegetables; in addition to packaging. Managing the category strategy includes RFx, Supplier selection, Negotiation, Contracting and Supplier management processes.
ROLE PROFILE
- Sourcing Strategy: Create and implement sourcing strategies for projects, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, internal policies, good practices, and business goals.
- Project Management: Manage sourcing activities for new project development, achieving agreed milestones and key development timelines.
- Strategic Roadmap and Budget: Support the strategic roadmap and annual budget for their category in association with the Category Lead.
- Procurement Strategies: Implement procurement strategies to maximize efficiency and benefits. Coordinate with the Category Lead for requisition processing and order issuance.
- Cost Reduction: Provide ongoing oversight of cost reduction, improving costs based on technical and commercial intelligence.
- Data Analysis: Map, analyze, and interpret data on current spend patterns, identifying cost drivers and opportunities.
- Supplier Management: Develop and manage supplier relationships, including measuring performance through KPIs and SLAs.
- Process Improvement: Actively participate in the improvement of procurement processes and governance, working closely with the Category Lead on fulfilling individual Category Plans.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, hospitality, finance, or in a related field and a professional Procurement qualification (e.g. MCIPS)
- Minmum 5 years of experience in a related similar senior position
- Preferred experience in a large Indirect and Direct Procurement organization dealing with multiple contract types covering Food and Beverage / Hospitality
- Working knowledge of Procurement and Contract Management related software a plus
- In-depth understanding and practiced best-in-class procurement processes, systems, and practices
- Experience in Procurement sourcing and oversight for all procurement RFX process
