Job Purpose:
- We are looking for a Senior Category Manager OS&E within the Service group. This role is responsible for the topline and gross profit performance of a category or several sub-categories, within the Self Service Beverages. You will be responsible for strategic planning and selection curation, identifying long term growth opportunities and risks. You will develop a deep understanding of customer needs in convenience and translate insights into a long-term strategy.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute category level purchasing strategies.
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve the effectiveness.
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation.
- Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power.
- Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers.
- Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand.
- Invite quotations for any items costing more than a certain amount (as per the purchasing policy).
- A minimum of three independent genuine quotations must be obtained for any orders as per the hotel purchasing policy.
- Establish contracts to ensure negotiated prices are available for all operating items required for the hotel.
- Receives market list from the Hotels on a daily basis and arranges for delivery of those items daily.
- Ensures that all order receiving dates are updated by the buyers according to the supplier's promised delivery dates.
- Ensures that all authorized or approved purchase orders are sent to their respective suppliers/vendors for delivery purposes on a daily basis.
- Ensures & verifies that quotations are regularly updated, and supplier's new current price lists are maintained.
- Research and identify new products and services for the hotel in the market.
- Checks, explain if needed, and approves delivered items discrepancy report issued by cost control regarding price and quantity order variances.
- Timely closure on key initiatives such as sourcing events, contracts renegotiations, projects, and pilots.
- Communication and integration of activity with internal partners to ensure that expectations are fully met for initiative goals and schedules.
- Communication skills to positively influence Hilton's partners and to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Approves all additional requests for storeroom items, checks correct item description, unit, packing, and category, and establishes Min/Max estimated stock levels.
- Verify the pending orders report on a daily basis, and all pending orders are checked and verified regularly.
- Identifies items for standing orders utilizing vendor's logistics for regular deliveries to the hotel based on approved highly consumed items.
- Ensures validity of items available, force issue obsolete items, and follows up on action taken for disposal.
- Verifies that all documentation and proper quotations are maintained and filed according to Policy and Procedure requirements.
- Willing to work a flexible schedule in order to accomplish all major responsibilities and tasks.
- Ensure the efficient operation of the Purchasing Department in all aspects.
- Submits reports in a timely manner, ensuring delivery deadlines.
Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree with minimum 5-10 years experience in a similar HORECA environment
- Relationship Building, Negotiation, Integrity, Judgment and Decision Making.
