Job Description: Chartered Accountant
Position Overview:
The Chartered Accountant (CA) plays a crucial role in financial management and reporting within an organization. They are responsible for ensuring compliance with accounting standards, preparing financial statements, analyzing financial data, and providing strategic financial advice to support decision-making. The CA must possess a strong understanding of accounting principles, taxation laws, and financial regulations to effectively fulfill their duties.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP) and regulatory requirements.
Conduct variance analysis and provide insights into financial performance to support management decision-making.- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including journal entries, ledgers, and reconciliations.
Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections to support strategic planning initiatives.
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through financial analysis and recommend actions to improve financial performance.
Taxation and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations by preparing and filing tax returns, including income tax, VAT/GST, and other applicable taxes.
Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on the organization.- Provide tax planning advice to minimize tax liabilities and optimize financial efficiency.
Assist in tax audits and liaise with tax authorities to address inquiries or issues as needed.
Audit and Assurance:
- Coordinate and facilitate internal and external audits, including liaising with auditors and providing necessary documentation and information.
Conduct internal audits to assess compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.- Identify areas for process improvement and recommend actions to enhance internal controls and mitigate risks.
Ensure adherence to audit standards and regulatory requirements in all audit activities.
Financial Management and Advisory:
- Provide strategic financial advice and insights to support business decision-making and resource allocation.
Participate in financial planning and analysis activities, including investment appraisal, capital budgeting, and cost analysis.- Assess the financial viability of projects, initiatives, and investments through financial modeling and analysis.
Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to optimize financial performance and achieve organizational goals.
