Civil Engineer (Roads & Utilities)

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented
Civil Engineer to join our team! In this role
youwill get to perform difficult and complex field engineering assignments involving the development, execution, supervision, and coordination of all technical aspects of a construction project.
What You'll Be Doing
- May function as discipline Project Engineer on medium to large projects, assuming responsibility for the work of the group.
- May plan, direct, and supervise the work of a major engineering unit or project requiring a largescale expenditure of manpower and financial investment.
- Leads other Engineers and design personnel in technical excellence and growth in the Quality Improvement Process.
- Provides technical consultations for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses.
- Ensures compliance of design with all applicable codes and regulations, providing the seal and signature of the professional engineer when required by statute or contract.
- Prepares material/equipment specifications and purchase requisitions; reviews supplier data; witnesses shop tests, assists with assessing sup plier manufacturing capabilities.
- Conducts surveys, studies, and site investigations. Performs reliability, availability, maintenance (RAM) and safety analyses.
- Maintains affiliation with professional societies to keep abreast of current technologies.
- Recommends and prepares technical papers.
- Performs difficult and complex field engineering assignments involving the development, execution, supervision, and coordination of all technical aspects of a construction project.
- Maintains first-level quality assurance to confirm that the installation of all work within his/her discipline is in accordance with the plans, specifications, and industry standards.
- May supervise the construction engineering work and provide technical expertise for one or more of the construction engineering disciplines.
- Ensures that tests and inspections are performed, witnessed, and documented in accordance with approved procedures.
- Collaborates with construction management to eliminate any hazards associated with the work that may adversely affect the environment or the safety or health of employees.
- Ensures that personnel of the assigned group engage in safe work practices in compliance with site-specific safety procedures and industry standards.
- Establishes and maintains liaison with the discipline design engineering staff.
- Reviews and interprets discipline design drawings and specifications to ensure current revision level and correct technical execution of the work.
- Provides resolution for technical engineering problems within the assigned discipline(s); coordinates application of solutions.
- Develops discipline construction schedules and monitors progress. Provides schedule and progress appraisal report to the Manager.
- Monitors material procurement and deliveries to ensure timeliness in support of construction activities and schedule within the assigned discipline.
- Ensures that materials received meet specifications and established standards of quality.
- Organizes the accumulation of assigned discipline data for the final project turnover and report.
- Initiates and maintains records, progress reports, etc., as required.
- May have some interface with the client and upper-level management.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
What Required Skills You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer registration may be required.
- Minimum 10 years of construction and supervision work experience in Infrastructure projects like Roads and Utilities, within UAE.
- Experience in fast track prestigious projects is preferred.
- Knowledge and experience using computer software.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate logically and clearly with management and staff.
- Commitment to safe work practices.
- Potential to perform in a lead capacity, excellent written and oral communications skills, and a familiarity of industry practices and regulations are required.
- Must possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and be able to select and apply appropriate engineering software for use on project.
