Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Coordination:
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives.
- Assist in project planning, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Site Preparation and Setup:
- Ensure the construction site is prepared and set up correctly, including site clearance, excavation, and safety measures.
- Coordinate with surveyors to establish site benchmarks and layout.
Supervision and Management:
- Oversee and manage all on-site construction activities, including the work of subcontractors, laborers, and equipment operators.
- Ensure work is executed in accordance with project plans and specifications.
Quality Control:
- Monitor and maintain the quality of work, materials, and equipment to ensure they meet specified standards.
- Implement quality control measures and inspections as necessary.
Safety and Compliance:
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and permits.
Progress Tracking:
- Track and report on the progress of construction work to project managers or superiors.
- Identify and address delays, issues, and deviations from the project plan.
Cost Management:
- Monitor project expenses and costs, ensuring that the project stays within the allocated budget.
- Provide input into cost estimation and cost control processes.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate project records, including drawings, plans, reports, and change orders.
- Prepare progress reports, documentation for compliance, and record-keeping.
Problem Solving:
Address technical and logistical challenges that arise during construction and provide practical solutions.
- Collaborate with the project team to resolve issues.
Communication:
- Maintain effective communication with various stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and government authorities.
- Conduct regular project meetings and provide updates to all involved parties.
Handover and Closeout:
- Participate in project handover and final inspections to ensure that all work is completed as per specifications.
- Ensure that the project is ready for occupancy or use.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in construction or civil engineering projects.
- Proficiency in construction management software and tools.
- Strong understanding of construction techniques, materials, and project management principles.
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Safety certifications and training are a plus.
