We are seeking for a Civil Works Expert as a part of our DB Engineering & Consulting GmbH Branch Office. The job opening is located in Cairo, Egypt, and offers exciting challenges and potential for career growth.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert knowledge in railway's civil works, earthwork and infrastructure components of complex railway modernization project.
- Design review, project/ site supervision and management of the civil works construction including buildings, railway subgrade, bridges, retaining walls, and drainage channels.
- Coordinate between the employer, the national authority for roads and bridges, as well as the contractor(s) for trackwork and railway systems.
- Consulte employer and contractors in health & safety requirements on building sites, coordinate work of civil contractors/ subcontractors in consideration of health and safety rules.
- Hands-on knowledge in the planning, organization and supervision of civil works.
- Provide guidance to the civils site supervision team.
- Meet regularly with the project team to provide project updates/progress and share and follow up on relevant information.
- Attend project meetings / workshops for technical input and follow up civil work related matters.
- Facilitate regular safety committee meetings, encouraging open communication and collaboration on safety-related issues.
- Assist in the preparation of progress reports and project deliverables in English.
- Provide organizational and technical guidance and training client's employees on demand.
Qualifications:
- M.Sc. or B.Sc. degree in civil or structural engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years experience in site supervision and construction of civil works & infrastructure in rail transport projects.
- Minimum of 7 years experience in similar working position.
- Technical knowledge on a similar assignment in the construction of new conventional railway line, track doubling and railway infrastructure modernization undergoing train operation would be seen as an advantage.
- Previous experience with comparable projects in the Middle East region would be advantage.
- Full computer literacy.
- Excellent knowledge of English language; Arabic language is an advantage.
- Driving license required in order to perform assigned duties.
