ASMO aims to be operational in 2025 and provide reliable end-to-end integrated procurement and supply chain services for companies across the industrial, energy, chemical, and petrochemical sectors. Our focus customers in the short term will be Saudi Aramco and its Affiliates. In the long term, all the industrial sectors within Saudi Arabia aim to reach the MENA region.
Objective:
The Compliance Manager is responsible for evaluating and enhancing compliance measures across various operational areas, collaborating with cross-functional teams to mitigate risks, and promoting a culture of regulatory awareness and adherence.
General Responsibilities:
- Acting as a strong communication link between functions and compliance.
- Being a highly visible, central point of contact for all matters related to compliance and promoting a culture of openness for reporting compliance concerns or risks.
- Being a pro-active business partner, supporting business in executing compliance activities, serving the business not policing them.
- Driving the compliance agenda within ASMO in line with shareholder's requirements ensuring that key compliance risks which threaten the achievement of business objectives are effectively managed in conjunction with management.
- Contribute to the development and execution of the Department short to mid-term strategic plan to ensure alignment with the Department's strategic priorities, and the corporate goals.
- Contribute to the development of annual business plans for the assigned areas of responsibility to support the achievement of financial and strategic objectives.
- Monitor, control and report key performance indicators related to the Department to track performance and recommend corrective actions.
- Developing, managing, maintaining and driving compliance standard operating procedures and processes, aiming for consistency, harmonization of procedures, processes and sharing best practices.
- Ensure compliance policies (e.g. Code of Conduct, Anti-Corruption and Business Ethics Policy) are implemented and considered in customer contracts as well as new business opportunities.
- Collaborate with the business functions to develop and implement a comprehensive compliance framework aligned with ASMO's business plan, statutory requirements, and industry standards.
- Collaborate in the development and execution of a compliance framework that aligns with ASMO's key operational pillars: Prevent, Protect and Mitigate.
- Ensure that compliance considerations are seamlessly integrated into all aspects of operations, reflecting a commitment to excellence.
- Conduct a comprehensive assessment of compliance risks associated with joint ventures, procurement, logistics, and other operational sectors.
- Utilize a systematic approach to identify potential risks, considering industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
- Categorize and prioritize identified risks based on their potential impact and likelihood of occurrence.
- Engage in the review of ASMO's financial statements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant accounting standards.
- Evaluate the adequacy of internal controls in place, identifying areas for improvement or strengthening.
- Collaborate with functional teams to address any compliance-related concerns.
- Act as an advisor to various functions within ASMO, offering insights and recommendations from a compliance perspective to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ensure that functions and teams maintain compliance and regulatory guidelines and internal policies.
- Provide feedback to the internal audit function based on external insights to continually improve ASMO's compliance practices.
- Provide assurance to the Board of Management and senior leadership that internal controls and systems governing operational procedures are effectively designed and implemented in alignment with internal policies, external regulations, and ASMO's expansion objectives.
- Experience with Export Controls, Customs and Trade Compliance rules, regulations and processes to ensure the business has implemented and followed these in operations.
- technical compliance matters clearly and effectively using appropriate language, media, techniques and tools.
Qualifications & Experiences.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent from a recognized and accredited university is required.
- Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent from a recognized and accredited university is preferred.
- Professional certification in compliance or audit (i.e., certified compliance & ethics professional, certified internal audit, CPA), is preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written English.
- 9 years experience in the same Field, out of which 3 years at a supervisory position or similar level.
- Proven experience in compliance, finance or audit role(s) within a corporate environment.
