A Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing the construction process for buildings, facilities refurbishment, infrastructure, and roads. duties include upholding the use of quality materials and procedures, adhering to budgets to complete tasks, and reviewing contracts to make sure that current practices align with the Regional Director's expectations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee construction activities within the Airport boundaries from inception to completion.
- Ensure progress of works are carried out according to contractor's schedule,
- Assist the client in overseeing construction projects by identifying risks, opportunities, and recommending strategies for improved project delivery.
- Generate internal and external reports related to project status, summarizing construction activity progress for higher-level management and clients.
- Understand contracts and effectively manage related risks, comprehend claim avoidance, and handle claims from a construction perspective when necessary. Fulfill contractual performance conditions.
- Oversee site safety supervision by contributing to the development, implementation, and maintenance of the site safety plan.
- Manage contractors by establishing priorities and objectives, overseeing performance, and providing continuous feedback, guidance, and direction to ensure contractors fulfill their contractual, legal, moral, and other obligations.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards, health and safety requirements, and regulatory compliance throughout construction execution.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in civil engineering, architecture, or a related field. Advanced degrees or professional certifications are preferred.
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in construction management roles, specifically in airport design and consultancy projects.
- Experience in risk management, contract administration, and procurement processes.
