Job Details:
- Onsite position in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
- 1-year extendable contract with Astek.
Responsibilities:
- Predicting issues and corrections needed based on operational metrics.
- Evaluating structure of documents with an eye to query performance. The documents are necessarily deeply nested to maintain complex relationships inside them.
- Evaluate index mappings for performance with regards to the deeply nested complex structure of the documents with an eye to query performance.
- Evaluate large number of sources and make recommendations on sharing and index layout with respect to other vectors besides time.
- Performing backup operations for an Elastic search cluster using best practices and following government security requirements .
- Debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning of indices, mappings and queries.
- Development using Agile Scrum methodologies.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of related experience in software development.
- Experience with Java software development on Linux based systems.
- Requires conceptual knowledge of practices and procedures within a particular area of expertise.
- Excellent Elasticsearch and Autonomy skills.
- Experience in Elasticsearch stack, working with Elasticsearch based architecture, design and development including Kibana.
- Experience with various database tools Oracle, PostgreSQL.
- Experience in APM , Fleet, and/or Machine learning modules.
- Experience in Kibana and creating visualization
Preferred Qualifications:
- An official Elasticsearch certification.
- Experience with establishing the proper Security settings for the Elasticsearch clusters.
- Familiarity with Cloud platform , specifically the permissions inside of it, required for connections to Elasticsearch.
- Scaling and layout of indices to meet performance goals.
- Optimize Elasticsearch configuration to achieve required performance.
- Ability to provide ongoing operational and maintenance support for existing systems and applications developed using Elasticsearch.
- Ability to perform application bug fixes, fixes to reports, correction to business rules, and/or assists with completion of scheduled Enterprise Architecture (EA) and infrastructure or software upgrades as needed.
- Ability to provide technical support, captures new business requirements, and identifies process improvements
