We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Gastrointestinal Surgeon to join our team. As a Consultant/Specialist Gastrointestinal Surgeon, you will be responsible for providing medical care and surgical treatment for patients with diseases and disorders of the gastrointestinal tract. You will work closely with our team of healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care and contribute to our mission of improving the health and well-being of our community.
Responsibilities
- Perform surgeries on patients with gastrointestinal disorders such as gallbladder disease, pancreatitis, colon cancer, and Crohn's disease
- Work with a multidisciplinary team to diagnose and develop treatment plans for patients
- Conduct thorough pre-operative evaluations and assessments to ensure patient safety and suitability for surgery
- Perform post-operative follow-up to monitor patient progress and ensure optimal recovery
- Communicate effectively with patients to educate them on treatment plans and potential risks
- Provide consultation services to other healthcare professionals on complex cases
- Stay updated on the latest developments in gastrointestinal surgery techniques and procedures
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
- Mentor and train junior medical staff, including fellows and residents
Requirements
- Medical Degree and completion of a residency program in Surgery
- Board certification in General Surgery and fellowship training in Gastrointestinal Surgery
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a practicing Gastrointestinal Surgeon
- Excellent surgical skills with a strong record of successful surgeries and patient outcomes
- Proficiency in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Dedication to providing high-quality patient care and continuous learning
- Ability to work long hours and handle emergency medical situations
- Valid and active medical license in the state of practice
