As a Consultant/Specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, you will perform complex surgical procedures and work collaboratively with dental, medical, and surgical teams to provide holistic care to patients. You will also be responsible for diagnosing conditions, developing treatment plans, and offering post-operative care.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and diagnose oral and maxillofacial conditions through clinical assessment and imaging studies
- Perform a range of surgical procedures, including extractions, facial reconstructive surgeries, and treatment of trauma-related injuries
- Provide anesthesia and sedation services as needed
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to formulate and implement treatment plans
- Educate patients and their families about surgical procedures, risks, and post-operative care
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
- Stay updated with advancements in oral and maxillofacial surgery techniques and treatments
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training
- Adhere to ethical standards and regulations governing surgical practice
Requirements
- Medical degree with a focus on Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
- Completion of residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
- Board certification or eligibility in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
- Proven experience in diagnosing and treating conditions related to oral and maxillofacial surgery
- Expertise in performing surgical procedures related to the face, mouth, and jaw
- Strong clinical, diagnostic, and technical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to work effectively in high-stress situations
