As a Consultant Visceral Surgeon, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional surgical care for patients with complex abdominal conditions. You will be at the forefront of innovative and minimally invasive surgical techniques, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
Your responsibilities will include diagnosing conditions, formulating treatment plans, and performing surgeries on the gastrointestinal tract, liver, pancreas, and other abdominal organs. Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals is crucial to facilitate comprehensive patient care.
In addition to surgical responsibilities, you will engage in mentoring and training junior surgical staff, contributing to their professional development and ensuring adherence to best practices in visceral surgery. Staying updated with the latest advancements in surgical techniques and patient management is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and assess patients, determining the appropriateness of surgical intervention
- Perform a variety of visceral surgeries, including complex open and laparoscopic procedures
- Collaborate with other specialists to develop comprehensive treatment plans for patients
- Monitor post-operative recovery and manage complications as they arise
- Provide education and mentorship to surgical trainees and junior staff

Requirements
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Medical degree (MD or equivalent) and completion of residency in General Surgery
- Fellowship training in Visceral or Gastrointestinal Surgery
- Board certification and a valid medical license to practice
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a consultant surgeon, with expertise in visceral surgery
- Proficiency in both open and minimally invasive surgical techniques
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
