What You Will Be Doing
- Follow up and monitoring rights and obligations under the various signed Contracts, prepare negotiate and settle variation requests and claims that maybe exchanged between project's stakeholders (to and from client, consortium, partners, suppliers and subcontractors).
- Oversee and contribute to the preparation of monthly progress reports and supporting documentation.
- Ensure timely and prompt service of all notices required by the Contract.
- Suggest contractual actions wherever they may be necessary or desirable in the interests of Suez and ensure their implementation once approved.
- Assist in the preparation of Suez International's project procedures and steps of validation.
- Liaise with the Group Contracts Manager on a regular basis and whenever required for assistance and/or advice.
- Coordinate with Suez International's Consortium Partner regarding all critical questions arising from the Client or his Engineer.
- Review and approve the applications for payment from selected sub-contractors / suppliers in association with Project Manager and other team members.
- Advise the Project Manager and senior management regarding necessary aspects, possibly with the assistance of third parties.
- Handle in-/output correspondence in conjunction with the Project Manager.
- Follow up regularly the progress of the payments.
- Preparing and keeping up to date all contract management reports.
- Coaching and spreading awareness on all contract management topics amongst the project team.
- Preparing and assisting the project manager in maintaining updated risks and opportunities matrix.
Who We Are Looking For
- University degree in Engineering, Civil/ Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 10 years in contract management, preferably in water treatment and process industries. Membership in accredited and renowned institutions such RICS and or CIARB is a plus.
- Team player with autonomy, flexibility and ability to work on his/her own initiative.
- The role will involve contact with our Egyptian Consortium Partner, other parties in Cairo such as the Client and its Franco/Egyptian Engineer, subcontractors/suppliers and with our group organization in Spain and France so Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are needed.
- Complete understanding of contractual obligations, rights, liabilities and risks
- Familiarity with FIDIC & writing correspondences.
