- Collaborate with the Head Chef to create and update the menu, introducing new and exciting African dishes.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, adhering to health and safety regulations.- Manage portion control, minimize waste, and ensure cost-effective food production.
Train and mentor kitchen staff in the preparation of African dishes.
- Assist with food ordering, inventory management, and supplier relationships.
Adapt recipes to accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences while maintaining the integrity of the dish.- Stay updated on trends and innovations in African cuisine.
Proven experience as an African Cook or similar role in a professional kitchen.- In-depth knowledge of African cuisines, ingredients, and cooking techniques.
Ability to create authentic and innovative African dishes.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Culinary school diploma or relevant certification is a plus.
