The
Cost Accountant provides a combination of financial management and analytical tasks to help the company understand and improve the drivers of company costs in key functions such as production, distribution including retail, and overhead. The role works hands-on with department heads, including one to two days per week on site in the production facility and retail outlets. The Cost Accountant works as part of the finance team and will also support general ledger, inventory management, payables and receivables, and fixed asset management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyze wholesale inventory costs and flows to improve margins.
Support the companys wholesale sales to bricks-and-morter and e-commerce retailers. Manage customer contracts and invoices related to supply agreements, consignment agreements, and delivery and other service arrangements.
Analyze retail sales, stock turnover, and margin to optimize retail assortment.
Control physical inventory in warehouses. Implement bar-code reading systems and associated business processes for inbound and outbound inventory flow. Lead periodic stock counts and reconciliations.
Develop production accounting system to calculate cost of goods sold of finished products.
Create business processes and install technology tools to track product flow through production processes. Control inventory in production business unit.
Control physical inventory in retail stores. Implement processes for purchasing, receiving, stock counting, and reconciliation.
Analyze corporate overhead to understand cost drivers. Prepare budgets and reports. Recommend improvements to processes to increase profits.
Provide managers with reports relating to cost and margin. Recommend improvements to inventory management processes to increase profits.
KEY SKILLS
Accounting skills; ACCA or CPA designation a plus
Financial analysis and reporting skills
Familiarity with ERP; Microsoft Dynamics a plus
Experience with statistical analysis a plus
Experience with SQL programming a plus
Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or other relevant field
Fluent in English and knows russian
