About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Cost Estimation Manager to join our project management consultancy in Riyadh. This role involves leading the cost estimation and budgeting functions for a range of high-profile construction, infrastructure, and development projects. The Cost Estimation Manager will work closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver accurate and comprehensive cost estimates, ensure financial feasibility, and support project planning and execution. The successful candidate will have a strong background in cost engineering, proven leadership skills, and a commitment to supporting our clients goals within the Kingdom's ambitious Vision 2030 initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Cost Estimation Activities: Oversee and manage the cost estimation process for multiple large-scale projects, including conceptual, preliminary, and detailed estimates, ensuring alignment with client objectives and project goals.
- Budget Development & Management: Prepare, manage, and monitor project budgets, providing accurate financial forecasting and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Data Analysis & Benchmarking: Utilize historical data, industry benchmarks, and market conditions to build and refine cost estimates, ensuring accuracy and relevance to current market trends in Saudi Arabia and the region.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct cost risk analyses and incorporate contingencies in estimates to accommodate uncertainties, providing project teams with clear, risk-adjusted financial perspectives.
- Stakeholder Communication: Present cost estimates, financial analyses, and budget reports to internal and external stakeholders, including clients, executive teams, and project managers, translating complex data into actionable insights.
- Team Development: Mentor and guide junior cost estimators and other team members, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance cost estimation and budgeting processes, leveraging technology and industry best practices to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Compliance & Reporting: Ensure that all cost estimation activities comply with local regulations, industry standards, and company policies, preparing regular reports and documentation for audits and reviews.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or a related field; Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CCP, PMP, MRICS) are highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years in cost estimation or cost engineering within the construction or project management consultancy sectors, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of construction, infrastructure, and development projects in Saudi Arabia, with knowledge of local regulations, market conditions, and materials costs.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in cost estimation software (e.g., Primavera, CostX, Candy, or similar) and strong analytical skills using Microsoft Excel; familiarity with project management software is advantageous.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills; ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple high-stakes projects simultaneously.
- Language: Fluent in English; proficiency in Arabic is a significant asset.
