The role
To conduct component overhauls as directed by the support engineer. He will also be required to mobilize offshore to client sites as required for ADHOC projects.
Main Responsibilities & Key Result Areas
- Repair, maintenance & test of cranes & lifting equipment inc. but not limited to hook blocks, balls & swivels, overload protection units, and spooler units
- Conduct independently offshore crane condition evaluations
- Provide accurate identification of all components, report on conditions and provide sufficient information to order correct spare parts
- Ensure workshop is kept clean & tidy and all company equipment is kept in good order
- Ensure project requirements are met within the time allowed
- Ensure constant improvement of safety, performance, and quality standards
- Ensure all ongoing work is correctly risk assessed and identify/action new assessments
- Work as part of a team with other departments
- Uphold the standards of the company and work in line with the company's objectives
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years experience in mechanical operations or maintenance, preferably in the oil and gas industry
- Mechanical diploma or equivalent (SVQ, city & guilds etc.)
- 5 years in a lifting equipment environment
- Experience in repair & maintenance of cranes related equipment
- Experience in working to schedules
Preferred
- At least vocational/technical High School Diploma Holder
- Safety Training Certificates
- Experience the offshore service industry or similar environment
- Experience in cranes & lifting equipment maintenance & repair
