Job Purpose
Responsible for all aspects of transportation and logistics operations and providing support to all areas of the business in relation to the cruise operations.The job holder is ultimately responsible for delivering port meet and greet, training of staff within the requirements of Costa and Aida (cruise companies) and to support further development within the cruise sector.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Support the recruitment department with interviews for new recruits and the setting up of training programs to ensure that candidates achieve the appropriate standards. The job holder sets objectives/monitors progress and provides feedback through performance reviews for all staff reporting directly to jobholder.
- Conduct daily briefings with the port staff and drivers in order to implement, monitor and ensure compliance with policies and procedures set by cruise companies and cruise manager
- Maintain records, verify and recommend approval all invoices andexpenses in respect of staff meal expenses, taxi, leave application, fines (vehicle maintenance) in order that cost are kept under control.
- Management of Costa / Aida cruise season to ensure that all transportation, logistics and visas are adequately scheduled and operationally covered. Includes overall responsibility for managing the season and freelance and internal staff
- In liaison with the Cruise Manager, establish,, develop, update and maintain a `Logistics Procedures Manual for both transportation and cruises covering all areas of operations ensuring that policies, procedures, pricing, product, safety and emergency information etc. is available in order to ensure a total quality environment.
- Plan, schedule and constantly review the training and development needs of the full and part time Drivers with respect to customer service, first Aid and safety in co-ordination with Cruise Manager, ensuring that the departmental and individual needs are met.
- Ensure that Tour Guides are managing logistical aspects of the transportation network ensuring that the vehicles are in good working condition and are up to the safety standards of GV.Ensure that daily records of manpower utilisation is maintained and updated in order to process monthly payment sheets.
- Manage guests complaints received with regard to transfer, ensuring that each case is objectively investigated and timely feedback and replies are sent to guests.Co-ordinate and ensure that drivers provide feedback reports
Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ Years in Hospitality, Holidays and Tour Guides field
- Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent)
- Experience in logistics/transport role
- Knowledge of UAE road network, company buildings and accommodation and places of tourist interest.
- Experience in managing a business
- Proven customer service skills
- Computer literacy is essential.
- Must hold a valid UAE driving license or any international licence that can be converted to a UAE driving licence.
- The job- holder must have prior experience of leading and handling large teams of staff from various nationalities and different social backgrounds ensuring that a good atmosphere is maintained across the 3 teams.
- Other languages besides English: - Fluency in one additional language such as German, French, and Italian is advantageous.
