Data Engineer - ETL Focus
Purpose of the role:
We are looking for a Data Engineer with a strong focus on ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes. The ideal candidate will help design and implement data pipelines that efficiently move and transform data from various sources into our data lake, supporting both traditional banking and digital asset operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL pipelines using modern data engineering tools and technologies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and implement appropriate data integration solutions
- Optimize data flow and transformation processes for efficiency and scalability
- Assist in building and maintaining our data lake infrastructure
- Implement data quality checks and monitoring systems to ensure data integrity
- Contribute to the development of data models that support both traditional banking and digital asset business needs
- Participate in code reviews and implement best practices for data engineering
- Stay updated on the latest trends in data engineering and ETL technologies
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
- 3-5 years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on ETL processes
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with ETL tools (e.g., Apache NiFi, Talend, Informatica)
- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Hive
- Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or Java
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Experience with banking or financial services data is desirable
