A leading organization leveraging data-driven solutions, our client is seeking a skilled and dedicated Database Administrator to join their team. As a Database Administrator, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our databases to ensure data integrity, availability, and performance.
Administer and maintain the organization's databases, ensuring data integrity, security, and availability.
- Monitor and optimize database performance, identifying and resolving issues such as slow queries, bottlenecks, and data inconsistencies.
Implement and maintain database security measures, including access controls, user permissions, and data encryption.- Plan and execute database backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies to minimize data loss and downtime.
Design and implement database structures, tables, indexes, and stored procedures to support efficient data storage and retrieval.
- Collaborate with development teams to provide guidance on database design, optimization, and query tuning.
Conduct regular database maintenance activities, including patching, upgrades, and performance tuning.- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related incidents, working closely with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement preventive measures.
Develop and maintain database documentation, including data dictionaries, backup procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Stay up to date with the latest database technologies, trends, and best practices, and propose and implement improvements to enhance database performance and reliability.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate are a plus.
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role, with expertise in managing relational databases (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server) or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
Strong knowledge of database management systems (DBMS) and database design principles.- Proficiency in SQL and experience with writing complex queries, stored procedures, and database performance tuning.
Experience in database security, including access controls, user permissions, and data encryption.
- Familiarity with backup and recovery strategies, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
Knowledge of database monitoring and performance tuning tools.- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve database-related issues.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
