Job Description

Job Title: Dental Assistant - Dental Clinic

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dental clinic team. The RN will provide clinical support to the dental team, assist with patient care, and ensure the smooth operation of the clinic. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist dentists and dental hygienists during procedures by preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment.

- Administer medications as prescribed by the dentist and monitor patients responses.

- Conduct pre-procedural and post-procedural patient assessments and provide appropriate care and instructions.

- Manage patient records, including updating medical histories and documenting treatments.

- Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and preventive measures.

- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe clinical environment.

- Perform routine tasks such as taking and recording vital signs, drawing blood, and administering vaccinations.

- Respond to patient inquiries and concerns in a professional and compassionate manner.

- Collaborate with the dental team to develop and implement patient care plans.

- Participate in continuous education and training to stay current with best practices in dental and nursing care.

Qualifications:

- Valid Registered Nurse DHA license or eligibility in the state of employment.

- Associate or Bachelors degree in Nursing from an accredited program.

- Previous experience in a dental clinic or similar healthcare setting is preferred.

- Current CPR/BLS certification.

- Strong understanding of dental procedures, terminology, and patient care practices.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Working Conditions:

- Full-time position with regular office hours.

- Occasional evening or weekend shifts may be required.

- Exposure to a clinical environment with potential exposure to infectious materials.

- Supportive and collaborative work environment.
