Design Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements, specifications, and constraints.
- Design sheet metal products and components using CAD software (such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools).
- Develop detailed drawings, models, and prototypes for manufacturing.
- Conduct feasibility studies and analyze design proposals for cost-effectiveness, functionality, and manufacturability.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to resolve design-related issues during production.
- Perform design iterations and improvements based on feedback and testing results.
- Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in sheet metal design.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Design Engineer in the sheet metal industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools).
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes, including bending, cutting, welding, and finishing.
- Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and codes related to sheet metal design.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in design work.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.
- Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for structural analysis of sheet metal components.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) software.
